@YouDontKnowMe Not really. I think people cope with trauma in different ways. Some actually want to forget it or pretend it didn’t happen because that’s what helps them move on. It’s not always about confronting it head-on—sometimes comforting someone by saying “it’s over” or “it didn’t happen” is just a way to ease the pain. That doesn’t mean they’re being gaslit, it just means the person helping might be trying to give them peace in the only way they know how. Not everyone heals the same.

@Bambi well maybe but denying reality is not "healing". You can take time but acting as if it was a dream will surely make it worse when the person realizes it was actually real. You can justify it as "they were trying to make that person feel better" but saying it's a "part of healing" is totally not it
