I thought she was going to pretend to be the sliver haired one, why couldn't they just have the mage they hired to teach the abused gir do it from afar then?

@Sabe probably because the power is passed down in the family or parent to child and the mothers manna being ice her child also had ice powers if the mage pretented and his element is fire or something that would have raised more suspision i guess
