@Shadow-Blade are you kidding me? This had been set up from the start. Time and time again, mc's father had acted unlike his past lifes memories but mc was too blinded by revenge to see it and assumed the butler was just generously interpreting his true feelings. This conclusion was even more obvious with the twist that the one guy mc thought was good in the family was actually evil/demonically possed instead. It was in no way forced and it's been a long time coming, I was starting to wonder whether the misunderstanding would be cleared up before I caught up the the latest chapter or not
