i think you don't understand the example. the EXAMPLE wasn't for romance but the part of COMEDY.
next thing you could clearly see in the drawing style, when it is a comedy and not serious!
plus the cat doesn't even "beat up" tom like how tain does. THE CAT IS TRYING KILL THE MOUSE! but we think that as a comedy cus it IS.
plus i don't care about the history of tom and jerry it was just an example that beating up can be sometimes taken as comedy in NON-FICTION STORY. but i do not support toxic relationships in REAL LIFE.
