Before judging, I hope you all realize that the mind can fragment after severe trauma or abuse & the brain naturally dissociates, becomes attached to certain things or makes up identities/voices in the head to cope with the pain of a chaotic life. It's an internal reaction towards trauma rather than an external reaction such as violence or agression.
Not only was she severely abused by her stepfather + abandoned by her mother, she was completely isolated and bullied at school. She is ill and needed help long ago and her extended family didn't help her, they just made her feel more like a burden which had her even more isolated .
Isolation after abuse like this definitely CAN lead to mental health issues such as dissociation because the mind is not able to calm down and relax.
Emma needed help, but she was abandoned.
I understand and empathize with Emma.
As someone who dissociated very young (and I still have two voices that are my guides), it's not fun at all.
You have to go really go through severe isolation to dissociate this much. If one wasn't completely isolated.. then it's too hard for you to understand why the mind fragments to protect itself.
