@Terrira.A Do you know about Rosaline Capulet? Per the wiki/book reference -> Before Romeo meets Juliet, he loves Rosaline, Capulet's niece and Juliet's cousin. He describes her as wonderfully beautiful: "The all-seeing sun / ne'er saw her match since first the world begun.".
Things diverge a bit from the original story since the reason he is bummed before the party where he meets Juliet is because Rosaline won't put out. He switches his obsession to Juliet pretty soon afterwards.
