I still feel like he's not a human, either a zombie or an experiment. He has no schooling and knows nothing when it comes to education or human interaction, so I also think he doesn't have empathy. So our mc could possibly help him be more 'human' like know more things and gradually have empathy. I don't think he's a red flag, he's just been programmed like that and Im sure when he becomes more empathetic he will be better (hopefully), I mean they are in an apocalypse, so most people are ruthless anyway and there's also less equipment and resources so u can understand a little why he's like this ig.
