@Heather Lynn Clarkson If this manga was made as a promotional for the light novel then sure but it sometimes isn't and will follow the light novel to the end. The anime is usually promotional for the Manga and/or light novel, but will never get too ahead of the Manga, as that will kill Manga and light novel sales.

@Group9000 there are quite a few anime that are ahead of their respective mangas. Those typically follow the LN.
@Group9000 well, the manga from "the angel next door spoils me rotten" is still far behind even season 1, but i believe thats an exeption
