I feel the way he handled this was such a realistic aspect for both characters, both drowning in the thought of not winning in their try for a genuine relationship with their crush. Im super glad that Micchi was able to realize he can't win Takamada over even if he trys so hard, Takamada's feelings and connection with Yu is so much greater than Micchi's determination. Though I really wish Micchi gets a love interest, the burden of thinking he doesn't get a happy ending is  troublesome.
