@Xtroward  just for some context ... He didnt sell his daughter to Lin in the novels ... he has several teachers ... 3 it showed and a couple more it didnt who are all at level 89 ... trying to break through to level 90 which needs to be done though comprehension.

Ning offered Lin all kinds of things in the Novel and Lin refused to sell the leg bone to Ning ... but offered to give it to him as a dowry for his Daughter ... Ning was stuck in a hard place and eventually begrudgingly agreed ... and no one was happier about it then Yiyi - who basically told her grandfather ... im going to be with him no matter what you might as well get some benifits from him before i go to him on my own.

thats why Ning was so cranky when they said Lin provided the bone instead of him ... is he felt Lin and his Daughter extorted her hand in Marriage from him. 

also in the Novel ... this guy has very very few Human connections ... and with his strengh he doesnt need help on the battlefield ... because hes a lonely Orphan in his past life and half an orphan in this life he really values those connections ... thats Yiyi's value to him ... her usefulness is secondary.

@Edrik Wyldfyre I agree with you but her usefulness is primary to him.
Lol who does not want love in their life. Even though some of us cannot get it but ling guy knows what's the value of love and for him love is primary. 

I haven't read the novel but thanks I will read it too :)
