She was just a tool, the high priest was manipulating her and her knight (and a lot of villagers) were confirming and reinforcing her actions.
She is in denial because, how can she deal with the fact that is all a lie and she just kill 15 inocent people? Especailly when the woman bringing the truth had the accusation reinforced by the high priest?
@cabellones you are absolutely right but don't forget that the island lord is also the reason for the island people misrey they force the villagers to pay high taxis and this is also the reason why island people are forced to eat rais bread which will become poisonous in rainy day and the lord daughter also think herself very special and actually she think herself a goddess while the villagers are forced to eat rais bread she eat delicious food in mainshion and she become kind only to satisfied herself so there is no need feel pety
