But more seriously, despite what a few others here might think, we're actually reaching a very important moment here. This is the first time Dajeong's began to question whether or not this is how love is supposed to work (given his inexperience), even considering ending things between them. 

 

I'm not gonna lie and say Dajeong's actions haven't been pathetic, but a lot of what he's doing is to try to get Sihyeon's attention. However, that's starting to work less and less. Even when the boss got off earlier, he wanted Dajeong to stay out the way, and as soon as he was done, he got up and left. The only reason why he got worked up in the first place was because he enjoys hurting Dajeong, and knows that he could cut or bruise him whenever he wants to in order to satisfy that need for violence, then ignore him until the next time.

 

It doesn't help that the boss is hyper aware of Yi-Hyeok and Inseo's relationship, and was actively trying to turn things in favor of Yi-Hyeok becoming his (example, the boss taking advantage of the fight the two just had in order to take Hyeok out to drink); and as we saw in the previous chapter, the boss has no problem with getting Yi-Hyeok compromised if it meant getting what he wants.

 

 

In other words, Dajeong's becoming more desperate and Sihyeon's becoming more distant, which adds to that desperation- or it could give Dajeong more clarity.

Side note: The last part of this chapter happens around the end of chapter 38 and goes through chapter 39 of the main story, which means we're getting closer to that moment we see in chapter 60. I'm interested to see what'll happen in between now and then
