Sasya was suffering from a.mental illness, he didnt understand if karl actually loved him, and karel, which also has a mental illness, trapped him thinking he was helping him or loving him, it was only fair to sasya to leave, now what I'm saying is that they both had mentall illnesses, which when collided made a big mess, I'm not saying that their mental illnesses will be excused but considering this was in the roaring early 1900s, karel is in the wrong, because atleast sasya's trauma explains his behaviour
