@Cant Complain I think they were childhood friends who started having feelings for each other. Daniel was declared an alpha but was worried he'd not be able to be with the prince, because he would also obviously be an alpha. However, they established they liked each other the same. That night, after their confession and kiss, Rafael faints.

He's manifested as an omega and his family is livid. His father kills all witnesses and hides him in a tower, or some palace, in a show of mercy but it's really just to spare himself the shame of an omega son.
His younger sister is now heir apparent, and will become the next king. She taunts her brother that the deaths of those people are his fault, and that his friend is also dead.

Because she sends the knight/soldier to the palace years later to kill Rafael, Daniel is reunited with him but it's during his heat. Which they share, but Rafael doesn't remember. Daniel was thought to be dead, but Daniel explains how he escaped with the help of a knight he knew. He was basically able to hide and become a knight which probably helped him get back into the royal palace.

Now they're reunited and they gonna consensually make love. c:
