Hey hey! Please stop thinking about the reader’s POV and start to think about Fl’s POV
Firstly She loves her family and her kingdom so much. She can sacrifice everything for them even herself.
Secondly, She has never met the ML before so normally, she doesn't know anything about him. She can't trust him or take his side directly.
Thirdly, She is aware of her brother’s evil thoughts but what can she do? He is still her brother the next King. She had already tried her best to protect everyone she loved and herself. (if she comes back and becomes smarter than that and can make everything as smooth as she wanted I’ll think that not her who was reborn because that's the reality even a genius can make a wrong decision too) And you want her to kill her brother? That is insane! Imagine if you're the FL would you wake up and go straight to kill him? It does not solve the problems at all it just starts another problem that she has to face.
For me, she was already strong and smart enough to handle her situation but she is a selfless person so that is why she chose to find a way to avoid the disaster and not create a new disaster.
And I think the ML is the reason for her coming back. But she doesn't know because what she saw was the battlefield and the ML killed her family and he is evil in her mind too
