Its easy to hate on them, but they are really only guilty of following the only path they felt they had. They are caught in the worst disaster they've ever experienced. Their ruler cannot rule, the only one who can take her place refuses to do so, he won't even take on a lesser role as chief. They keep losing people and land, their situation grown more desperate by the day... And still they have no ruler to lead them. Trust the humans then?? Humans who have for years only done wrong by them?? Think about it. They are a broken people who lost their home and ruler, of course this is the outcome.
