That's so incorrect and that's not how defining your sexuality works
Dating is literally just getting to know a person in a way that's not where u wanna be friends only.
Also
your sexuality is defined by what genders you are attracted to not necessarily who you would date.
But
mid a gay person claims to be gay and they would date the opposite gender then that means that they are not exclusively gay, they are bi or something.
but if a person as I explained is claiming to be "straight" and they are in any way attracted to the same gender and would either sleep date or want to have an emotional bond with them or physically attracted to them whatever it may be as long as it's that, that means that they are gay in some way.
but if on the other hand the straight person would only sleep with the same gender and opposite gender definitely BUT NEVER want to date the same gender then that means either
1)they aren't gay and they are just having gay s** for fun
or
2)they have really deep internalized homophobia and they haven't overcome it enough to understand or accept that they are gay whether it's exclusively gay or to some extent.
This is info coming from an actual gay person, and also I'm not the only gay person who knows of this, like this is an obvious to those who know abt gay/queernes
