Tbh, no matter how much heartache this story caused it, it was so realistic and that's why it hurt so much. It perfectly portrayed the messiness of love. It never gave us the happy fairytale story progression and ending because that's not how love is in real life and I'm thankful for the author for deciding to make this story different from the rest and not deciding to just skip to the good part.
