Im confused.. in the live action, WWX died after the siege, falling to his death but he was still alive here in this version? Then how did he die?

I could be wrong but like someone scarified their own soul to revive WWX in the live action hoping he would get revenge on his family for him,It's also in the animated series
so WWX did die and someone just revived him. (Basically.. The animated series, manhua, lice action, and novel are pretty similar
@Unknownxx in the beginning the person named mo xuanyu sacrificed his body to bring WWX back, his original body did die after falling that cliff in the past.
@Unknownxx in the drama he did indeed fall, but this did not happen in the book ! you may want to read the novel if you want to understand whats happening better :)
