@Awyr I think he's gone back as well. He knows things he didn't a few days before, he knew when the proposal was supposed to arrive and he knows where and when her brother died, he got the date exact too big a coincidence.
Given how ott he's being, he's properly from a later time than she has come from.
He's acting like he's gotten someone back from the dead. If that's right , he's happy because he's getting a do over.
He gets back his neglected wife at a time she still loved him. Either way he's trying to make her 'go back's to how she acted before.
Tantruming like child when she won't go along with his little fantasy, because in his mind she's supposed to still be blindly devoted to him showering him with affection like she was before that carriage ride. As she put up with all his nonsense before and still loved him.
But since life with him was unhappy from her point of view, and she doesn't have one good memory to make her want to have a do over, she wants to see the back of him. It's telling that it's just till his older brother died but she's looking for a treatment (that would extend his life). I think she cares more about the man she thinks of as a father than her would be husband at this point. He never did her wrong and will always be that kind father figure taken from her too soon. Her husband more akin to something she stepped in, no matter how much she's trying to scrape it off she just can't seem to get the smell off her shoes.
