This is gonna be toxic for awhile since he is new to his feelings of love and shows them with the cliché possessiveness,  and the fact that if the writer plans to end this happily there are quite a few obstacles besides gain fl love, like getting rid of fiance and gaining approval of mother and grandmother. 
So yeah its gonna be a whole roundabout to get these two together.  Besides I'm only here for the art
