MC starts searching for his childhood sweetheart, when he is back home, but he doesn't know even the name and doesn't remember all the details from the past. When people heard that noble is searching for his friend a lot of them flak to the palace and pretend to be MC childhood friend, mostly because they see this as opportunity to get rich. MC becomes more and more disappointed by greedy people. And when finally MC real friend appears, MC doesn't recognise him and doesn't even remember that he gave him as token that jewellery, so he orders his guards to beat him to death and throw him into town square to show as example of what happens when you try to decive marquis. Thank g** badly beaten but childhood friend survives. Later butler comes home after running some arends from father of MC and tells MC that he saw his friend and told him that MC was looking for him. Turns out that butler knew who that friend was and actually were giving MC's letters to him all these years. When MC realises that he beat his friend, he rushes to find him. But when MC asks if he is really his friend, his childhood friend denies saying that he is not and that he wanted just money like every else. His friend was heartbroken that MC only wanted that sweet young child from his memories, but not present him, so he decided that memories should remain only memories, and that's why he lied that he is not MC's childhood friend.
