Afterall, it's hyper unrealistic to expect a man to choose an ambiguously looking woman who is infatuated with another man over the countless other good, attractive women of much higher standing that all desire only him.
BL scenes should also be scratched because, well, c'mon. Who needs gay ships to keep a story interesting? That's just poor writing standards!
or perhaps, just perhaps, an attractive character doesn't mean an author is "pandering to the lowest common denominator" but is actually just good at creating decent characters and not bland Mary Sues. Just like having a tense scene that leads to people thinking "BL SHIP HAS SET SAIL!" is an author developing character dynamics; just like reverse harems are female fantasies and if men don't like it they can go read something else instead of compl-...
