Based on my understanding of the story so far:
- 8 years had already passed since Colton had met Jinwoo in an exhibition at a university in England.
* Note: Colton doesn't know how to speak Korean yet until he met Jinwoo in that exhibition 8 years ago.
- Colton saw him again in Korea for the first time in 8 years, hence, why he said that "He looks familiar..." He saw him talking to one of his employees, Minjae (Jinwoo's unrequited love/former FWB partner).
- One day, Jinwoo set up a meeting with Colton as "Damon" for business purposes. Upon seeing his artist name, the sense of familiarity came back to Colton as he suspected him to be the same person, he had already met 8 years ago.
- However, when the day that they were supposedly going to meet came, Jinwoo didn't show up. Instead, he sends an agent as his replacement to meet with Colton.
- Colton is suspicious of the person who came as Damon, so he asked him a few things that only the real Damon could answer. Of course, the man didn't know anything about the things that Colton has been talking about. This made Colton certain that he isn't the Damon that he was supposed to meet. He asked the man to tell Jinwoo to come and meet him in person because of the confidentiality of the contract.
- At the same time, Minjae was called in sick that day.
* Note: The reason why Jinwoo didn't show up and Minjae became absent was because Jinwoo accidentally marked Minjae that day and Minjae took a neutralizer to remove the marking effect.
- Colton thought that the timing of everything that happened was too strange to just be a mere coincidence that the man that he saw talking to Minjae and Damon isn't the same person. Upon seeing Jinwoo's face clearly and hearing his voice, Colton is finally certain that Jinwoo and Damon are the same person. Hence, it is also why he asked Jinwoo upon meeting him in person in Chapter 1, "What exactly did you do to my employee?", referring to Minjae calling in sick that day.

@Mics so basically minjae met with jinwoo after their breakup right....I think it was that day they met in the office right Colton office
@Beautiful Life Yes, they met each other again sometime after their breakup, with Jinwoo being drunk, hence the accidental marking. However, I don't think it's on the same day that they met at the office, though maybe another day after that because, in Jinwoo's perspective of that scene in Chapter 14, he told Minjae to call him if he wanted to see more of his work at his studio.
