For anyone confused: in the beginning we learned that Xu Xin Nian (cinian's brother) was really a different soul trapped in his body. That's why he did bad things, because he was originally a beggar and wanted better even at the expense of his "family." Now we're meeting Li Pingshi, who is actually the real xin nian's soul in the wrong body. Somehow, the two people switched during the car accident. Pingshi( aka the real xin nian) has been suffering the other guy's bad life. He met Cinian years ago, who gave him the hankie. Right now, he is being saved by Ah Si(you can tell the difference because cinian has round eyes and parts his hair to the side and ah si has thin eyes and a middle part)
