@Rain I agree that many won't see Karl as innocent, and that is because we are shown the story from Rue's side. Had it been shown from Karl's side, you'd see a girl who was his queen and daughter of his enemy. He couldn't trust her ever, even if he wanted to. As a human what he did might not be justified, but as a king it definitely was justifiable.
