Okay wait so he went into a gate that should have been a mana stone mine but it was a forest and then giant boars started to fall from the sky and they were fine from landing and the hunters were acting like t** was normal and then there were also just civilians in the gate???? And then the Guardian dude said that he was out of mana and then oneshot the "boss"? Like none of that made sense

@Unknownagon I'm pretty sure the 'civilians' were there to mine the mana crystals. So, probably very low-ranked/level awakeners with abilities not suited for combat. The dungeon, which is a permanent structure, likely created by an abundance of mana (I could be wrong here) pooling in a specific spot. These dimensional rifts, cracks, gates, whatever you want to call them, open anywhere, even inside dungeons. Once monsters come through, they just settle down and adapt to the world they are in, so they exist everywhere. But in this case, the dungeon was described as weird because there were no monsters. Thus, they let in the 'civilians'. And then the gate appeared in the intermediate sky. The combat team was either already there or called in because a gate appeared. Their job was to cover the mining team's evacuation, right, so they had to either act as a meat shield or kill every single one. And that was going well up until the second 'boss level' Pig appeared. Then Spear Guy was like WTF! How long can we keep this up?! Which was a beautifully done plot prop for the MC to secretly protect everyone, honouring the Old Guardian's request.
