To those reading this. You wouldn't be able to hate Algard when you know his reasons and intentions, it's very deep tbh. But this scene is undeniably brutal.
@Gnob actually youre wrong his motive is to get power so that is difficult to kill him beacuse he wanted change the kingdom and aboling the tradicion of is kingdom that why he wanted the power of the poor gir l
Here's to explain it. He never wanted to inherit the throne, he was only there bc of his royal responsibilities. Anis was the supposed next in line to inherit the throne but she objected on such decision bc she was likely to have her own mind and ways, she wanted to continue her passion of magicology and get out of those royal business — that, she was hated by the royal community and the minister of magic. Al was then forced to inherit the throne. On a scene, his sister tried to talk it out to him but instead he slapped her hand away. Their relationship changed greatly ---
---Anis didn't want to bother Al and make his feelings worse nor recieve those bullshits coming from the community, she separated herself and lived in her own villa. Unknowingly for Anis, Al was devastated when she left to follow her own passion while he ws following orders and trying to prove himself even though he doesn't want to. Anis is much more popular than Al is bc she was free to do whatever she wants, then she invented magicology, people think she ought to sit on the throne than Al. Jealousy didn't consume him, he would've supported his sister if she was on the throne. Bc of magicology and everything of Anis, though some are impressed of her, the majority of the magical community hated her ideas and thought she was 'heresy' or 'heretic' — means she and her ideas are unsuitable for the community because they believed that her ideas are opposed of their beliefs on true magic. He did all those things people consider as inhumane because he wanted to sack all those corrupt ministry of magic and his son. He also wanted to take away the title of 'heretic' from his sister bc he knows that is the reason why Anis hid and never wanted to show her ideas to the public. He wanted to change the stupid tradition of the whole kingdom kill off those absurd corrupt people and those who hated Anis. He actually wanted Anis to kill him off bc he felt like he was worth nothing anymore and he has done his part, also probably why he kept on triggering her. Anis hesitated to do that. He said something to anis like; "Sister, its hard not being able to be yourself". He had loved his sister more than anything else, he admired her braveness and saw her as an icon bc she was able to be herself without minding the complications which is opposite of him (Correct me if I'm ever wrong with this statement.)
holy sh** i wrote a fuc**** essay. anyways, its understandable for you to not like algard, its not like its invalid. his intents are pretty complex and he did it in a way he could harm someone innocent (yes, that includes ripping out the stone out of lainey's heart.)
@Gnob lol anyways, in shorter terms. He did those things bc he wanted to change the Kingdom's bullshit traditions, take away the title of 'heresy' from his sister, sack all the corrupt authority, spit on all those who hated his sis and male his sis sit on the throne bc he also thought she deserves to rule.
