This is the case where I wish these manga were actually based on real games I could read the actual abilities on, because I'd love to know what kind of cooldown some of his abilities have.
For example, if his "low life switch defence for attack" trick has a cooldown of ten minutes, then potions make sense as a reset. Like "lose life, use ability, cd kicks in, drink potion, repeat" loops.
