I don't know but i feel like the king is still late even tho he is on time this time around . Something about leaving the young child alone to fend for himself it doesn't seem like a thing to forgive..

In the past, it was normal to leave the child to fend for themselves. If not, they wouldn't grow into the men they needed to become in a dangerous world. 

Kinda like Leonidas, Spartans trained since they were kids. If they didn't, they would die
