it doesn't matter if he's sick or not, dying, whatever he went through, that's not going to redempt him in the eyes of the readers, his time has passed, im sure me and plenty other readers want to see the female lead having a character development, involve herself in a new relationship, move on, do something for herself for once, that would make the story more rich and far more intressting, because realistically; moving on means leaving few things behind, it's how life is made, let's not overuse the same narative of : he left came back as a mysterious bad boy and won her heart again, it's boring.
