I think that sage guy is responsible.
At first both ml and that guy both douted the existence of g**(like in early chapters when ml and mc reuinated we can hear his thoughts where he said he didn't believe in G** because of every thing that happened to him and in the chapter where mc wakes up fro coma and says she talked with G** that sage guy kina show distrust ) But now ml has a reason to not be a disaster but that sage guy has a lot of reasons ..
