I'm unsure with how many people who are reading this have interacted with people who have severe PTSD but Heiner is showing clear traits of it, like how he flip back and forth. And how he obesses over one thing (Annette in this case) because she was the only thing which kinda remained the same over the course of many years. As someone who is very close to someone who has severe PTSD my entire life I can see how he struggles with it like the person who I'm close with. It can make their brains skip through reasoning and only see the end result of what their brain sees.
It genuinely hard to understand the hate towards both Annette and Heiner because they both suffer from different forms of PTSD, or "Shell Shock" as it's used in the manhwa. Sure it's not a reason to explain any of their actions but it's a reason behind it.
