By the seems of it it looks like they wirelessly broke the crystal to make it seem like she was abandoned so she would join them as for why she doesnt kill them how would that help? A roach without its head can still live on even if she kills them both their plans wouldnt stop maybe go on hiatus but it wont stop which is why shes prying for info so she could cut it before it gets worse
