@avy BL without sm** is called shounen ai bro. Yaoi focuses more on sexual stuff, shounen ai's don't. Those two are one of the main sub genre's of BL. Do some research before correcting me.

@Jinxx while you're right that it's the original meaning of yaoi, the meaning has changed in the recent years. Yaoi is now used to describe ANY bl, so most people think of yaoi as boys love rather than smutty boys love...I wasn't even trying to correct you I was trying to explain why that person thought so- it isn't there fault when the meaning changed in the recent years....

@avy no, it's not. People "think" yaoi is used as a term for any bl because fans from outside japan interchange them instead of calling it "BL". It's like calling anime "cartoon". In the current time, it is preferred to call it "BL" when pertaining to any boy's love works, while yaoi is now used to refer to the ORIGINAL and RIGHT term. I don't even see someone treat yaoi as shounen ai. It works for all the sites, it's either a story gets tagged as just shounen ai, slice of life or it gets tagged as yaoi.

@Jinxx yeah thats what i said to, the meaning only changed because people started thinking of it as something else. The original meaning still remains being sm** boys love
