@Kusanagi Ryuji True, but yet Souma felt connected to the point he felt faint. What if, what if, Souma was not summoned to kingdom first, but rather the territory of the Devil-Kin, did the same thing he was doing in the kingdom and pushed the demons out and that pushed them into human territory, and when human soldiers came to push encountered the Devil-Kin under Souma's leadership of that time? And being summoned again by the kingdom resulted in his memories being erased, as the name Diablo is familiar to him. Diablo is Spanish and it basically means Devil. Unless Souma studied Spanish language which is very remote as English most studied secondary language in Japan, and unless a hobby I do not see him doing it and his near faint trying to remember caused him to nearly pass out makes it clear he doesn't recongize it. One of Souma's power is to understand and write the native language, because what he reads and write is not Japanese, so, does that mean Souma automatically understand the demon language? The Hero Summoning Ritual is not at best not something even the kingdom knows about, as they failed in the past several times to summon a hero. 

It's a theory, another story I have been following reveal that a rather perverted g** who was summoned by a goddess is actually the worst traits of normal guy from Japan that she fell in love with, and threw away all the elements she didn't and as the story processes it reveal there was two versions of the guy. The good and the bad. I can see this is happening in this story. That near faint was not natural, like he forgotten something important.
