America, the only place in the world where we put qualifiers before American, because we accept people who have come from so many different places around the world. We have Chinese-Americans, african-americans, native-americans, mexican-americans, korean-americans, etc. For every ethnicity, country of origin, religion, etc. The USA has a thriving population that lives here.
Yes, there are racist issues. But lets not kid ourselves in thinking racism is a uniquely american thing. I would bet that every single American lives, works, talks, with fist generation imigrants on a daily basis. And vast majority, think nothing of it, regardless of their skin color or shape of their eyes or any other feature of their body.
I've worked with people who grew up in at least 50 countries besides the US, who immagrated here either temporarily or permanently.
I guess what I'm getting at, is this is *not* how americans would act.
We LOVE hero stories (look at how popular marvel is) here in the states. If there was a hero 1 taping world ending monsters, americans would be first in line to claim him as one of ours....
