So your going to make an effort to save the person you like, but not the other lady because it was her choice to be a villainess. Completely ignoring the fact that she was driven to become the villainess, by the same author you speak of, and deserves a chance to be happy and not dumped like a hot potato. I don't know what woman wouldn't react badly to all the men around her including her fiancé simping over some b who just popped out of no where one day.

I was thinking the same. And as we've seen in so many other (villainess-)transmigration stories; the villainess is many cases not actually a bad person, in many cases it turns out they are simple victims to manipulation, schemes, and countless bad rumors by the so-called heroines.
@Meh

She is also the Duke's knight and swore an Oath to protect him. So there's that reason to help him. Of course if that woman the villainess is mean to you, you wouldn't go out of your way to save her, unless you are a submissive maso***** and into that, and if you are and cute let me give you my number. What are you going to do? Change the villainess personality to be nice somehow? Preemptively kill the female lead? She's a knight commoner she can't even talk to the villainess without her initiating conversation.  Plus this is chapter one, if an opportunity arises she may try to save the villainess.

I love villainesses too but you are putting way too much on her at chapter 1 when she is shown not to be a powerful character in this world.

@Mistress Maya Feel like I just read a book report but I agree
