I let it marinade for months and really nothing changed, except for the empress's death. The expedient of the loss of memory is, in my totally humble opinion, the proof that the plot has come to a dead end. Over there, the fact that the emperor is telling a person convinced to be 9 years old that they are lovers is totally creepy. I know, I know, HE IS CREEPY, he has been this way from the first chapter, and once again I think Johannes is the only one male character at this point to behave in a human way.

I still hope one day Daphne will stab Asterad right in the guts, literally, but I'm also pretty sure this won't be, in the name of the toxic feeling of "Oh my, he treats me like a dog but I love him sooooo much, I can change him".

In the end, I have only one more thing to say: poor Favian.
You are my happy ending

Hail the holy banana!

@Infunwetrust it's a dark, morbid story and tbh I've already given up on the hope that Daphne will succeed in escaping from Asherad.
The memory loss expedient is actually poor, I guess the author had to find a mean to change the pace of the story but it's not working well.
