@Allen Osborn plot purposes, most folks would get one for their kid asap. My four youngest children each have at least one assigned. My older children have their own teams and my grandchildren (their children) never venture out without someone keeping an eye out for them. We've had kidnapping situations before.

@sagegreen They mostly ended the same way, either thwarted by our security of a quick ransom was paid and RMC our family's private military contractor company handled the rest. Due to things like that we are very careful about how we vacation. Mexico is a great place and has lovely people but the cartels are just as unreasonable as the ones in South America so travel there can be pretty dangerous. Typically though most folks know that tourism is good for business and if you mess with too many or the wrong tourists you'll end up in a barrel.

@sagegreen Honestly, When I just started out in the 70s I never thought my company would grow so much that it could influence things to such a degree, after my eldest son took over everything jumped up a level, back in the day you earned peace with blood now it's earned with mutual interests. Travel to some places is tedious. Local travel in North America is often more dangerous though. Two years ago I went to a wedding in Nigeria, our company did security for all the guests. One incident solved discouraged any further nonsense. That's actually what I like about organized crime and such, it's not random. Not like these da** zombie junkies, at least twice a month my security is rotated for court purposes because of these bast****.

@sagegreen I'm 78. Was born in 1948. Just after WW2. My mother fled Europe while my father's family were fighting to hold onto their scraps. As to why I use a pirate site for my comics, it's because I try to read what my grand kids read so we have things to chat about. Also while I'm moderately wealthy, everyone know folks with money hoard it like dragons hoard gold hahahah. Realistically I used to invest in these scanlators but they stopped being reliable, they are pirates but act like they are CEOs of fortune 500s meaning they work as hard as they want when they want and don't care about the folks finding their projects.
