it was the artefact the sister and the Idol trying to get by using him. but since he had worn it, he got the power of the artefact and regressed.

Her taking back some memories may be because their connection on the past life and the author trying to make a redemption arch for her.

@Poison Gaming It's the same person who helped the mc retain his memories that let her remember hers now. But it's only to help the mc, not the sister.
