@Dodo Because he continually puts his wife down when she wants to learn to defend herself and the people she cares about and refused to let her train or grow without constantly turning it into a fight, directly leading into her feeling the need to sneak around into situations she isnt ready for. He doesnt have malicious intentions, which is why I dont think hes a total piece of sh**, however hes objectively constantly disregarding his wife's desires and feelings and cant compromise without making her feel guilty as fu** for...*checks notes* wanting to have freedom and grow.

Hes not wrong that she wasnt ready to be here. Its just for all the wrong reasons. She isnt ready to be here because he wouldnt let her train properly and everytime she tried, it became a fight until it got to the point where she was repeatedly sneaking into a lions den just to do *something*. It coming from a place of protectiveness doesnt absolve him, and they need to compromise where she isnt jumping headlong into danger she's not ready for and he isnt causing his wife to wither away in misery and actively ignoring the things she wants, then getting upset when shes noticeably unhappy. This could've easily been avoided if he'd just let her train properly. Then she either would've been ready to be here, or would've felt like shes actually learning and growing at a normal pace, wouldn't have felt the need to sneak around, and therefore would not have been here at all.
