Yes, Karlyle felt guilty. Yes, Ash was confused. That doesn’t change the impact of what happened. Breaking things off, sending mixed signals, and handling it poorly still affects the other person, regardless of intention.

 

Also, telling people to “not focus on certain parts” comes off dismissive. People engage with stories differently, and pointing that out doesn’t make them shallow,it just means they noticed something you didn’t prioritize.
