After she is kidnapped she is saved by her brother Johannes (but doesn't know his identity) and she hears from him that the Duke got severely injured after saving the princess. She feels like she can't go back to the Duchy anymore, so she decides to leave with Johannes. While they're in the carriage they're stopped by the Duke who got news about Rosalie being with the marquis, he's still unwell but he came to take her back. She firmly refuses to go with him, he begs her and says that the princess is only family to him but Rosalie replies she will never go back.
