That b**d father wants to get rid of her completely. He wants to erase all evidence of his affair with Angela riddles (her mom and the one responsible for the death of Leon's father), while Leon is actually trying to save her from her biological father, the government, the king, the revolutionary army and her f**g b**d ex. Many things will come to light soon, including the fact that Leon misunderstood her completely, thinking she had a hand in his father's death, which is why he did those terrible things to her. I'm not by any means defending him, everything I said is based on the novel.

@Hypnotizing Chaos grace already said the truth to him but leon still doesn't trust her. So in the end leon will accept that grace has nothing to do with the death of his father
@Crimson before you read, it contains spoilers and I don't know how to hide the spoilers after the website changes. true and that's going to become one of his biggest regrets later, however he'll know everything when he meets her brother (looking for her after she escapes) and reads her mom's diary, as well as what her brother and ex fiance say about her.
