That father might care about her, but will try to get rid of her. He wants to erase all evidence of his affair with the rebel Angela riddles (her mom and the one responsible for the death of Leon's father), while Leon is actually trying to save her from her biological father, the government, the king, the revolutionary army and her f**g b**d ex. Many things will come to light soon, including the fact that Leon misunderstood her completely, thinking she had a hand in his father's death, which is why he did those terrible things to her. I'm not by any means defending him, everything I said is based on the novel.
