@anaaa When it comes to the old b*tch, she basically deluded herself into thinking that her son (?) went to war because of the MC, which she of course resent him for.
There only reasons I can see for the entire village to hate the MC are him being too strong and probably rebellious as well as the old b*tch painting him as a demon or something like that.
Lastly, the officer is using the death of his soldiers (wouldn't be surprised if the guards themselves tried to chase him off because the MC looked like a beggar) to pass him off as a murderer in order to gain the favors of the villagers, including the old b*tch to force a marriage with the girl.
In short, all of this is happening because of two t*rds in human shape.
