To those calling the dad names, i understand your feelings. But i also could relate to the dad's decision. Parents always work hard to make sure the children could live properly without being bullied by others, hence the name he build for his family and the education he provide to the both of them. But once the name is established, it is also the responsibility of the children to continue it. But i think its a bit sad that they never praised killian for anything while growing up and now suddenly he wants killian to take the duchy. The dad did what he needs to do for the duchy. It might not looks like it but its also important for the people in the duchy to have a leader whether the children likes it or not. Just like the first born in the royal family cannot choose not to be king or queen, the same applies to the children of the duchy. They have to take on the responsibility whether they like it or not.
