Tho I understand why someone might not forgive Takamada and that's very valid take.
Why I forgive Takamada is because he never blames or gaslights Yu. He doesn't try to justify what he did and he swore to never do it again and has kept that promise.
I think the way this manga handles rap* is one of the best ways of handling it I've seen in bl. Usually when bl has rap* it's just brushed off and never talked again but here Takamada is traumatized by his own actions faar into the story and those actions are acknowledged multiple time throughout the story.
I can't really see it. Like sure when Taka was still assaulting him he would be afraid, mad, annoyed etc. But after ep 30 I don't see Yu being intimidated by Taka at all.
As I stated in the beginning "not forgetting, forgiving."
If that's how you define trauma then ok. Yu got scared once by Takas sudden change of demeanor. Yu didn't panic, Yu didn't become afraid of Taka, Yu didn't avoid Taka, Yu didn't get panic or stress, Yu was more worried about Takas well being than his own.
If you think that getting scared in the level Yu got scared by Taka then I don't know a single person who isn't traumatized.
You are searching signs of trauma in Yu and ignoring all the signs Taka clearly shows if you really are claiming that you don't recognize that the perpetrator (Taka) can be the traumatized one.
I'm not saying Yu can't be traumatized. I would't be that surprised if he was, but this far I have not seen signs of Yu having a trauma from the things he endured at least in the grade that would actually affect his life and well being.
Yu did have a trauma about his father passing tho. Which showed Yu not wanting to let the shop be renovated. So we know how Yu might handle his trauma if he had it (places and things hold the memories for Yu). I think he would get rid of the things that remind him of Taka or avoid the things/places that remind him of those, maybe he would have traumatic flashbacks that would lead to anger/stress/panic when he does encounter the things that remind him of Taka.
Every victim is different. Yu as a victim doesn't show signs of trauma. I'm not claiming that r*pe is ok or that Yu is good depiction of person who has gone trough the things he did, but he is the character we have and the character I'm analyzing here. I'm not making broad assumptions of people who have gone trough similar experiences and I really hope no one took it that way.
