Okay so my theory of all his accomplishments beings faded in the sands of time were right, the desert covered all of his accomplishments because no one sees them.

Now back to the black fog and the figure, we know that the black dog is ennid, rn ennid is living inside a delusion, and has dove too far into it that his subconscious now thinks of it as reality. The mage in carriage explaining how people can get trapped in their subconscious can fall into delusional and become trapped, a bit of foreshadowing there.

A bit more highlight on the moon, I remember saying "shoot for the moon, land amongst the stars" theory, When glunn asked to please remove the fog, the panel went back to the moon. Is the moon ennids true subconscious and only showing one side? We never see the "dark side" of the moon, not because it doesn't want to show us but it can't. This is in the sense that ennid, as mentioned before, doesn't know he is hurting and only realises he is showing only one side of himself, the strong independent Ennid. But never the lonely and depressed one.
