@Claim it i see your point. But i think dan is just too emotionally exausted and extremely upset with what happened to him atm. Its given that has some lingering feelings to be seen and validated emotionally, i think thats why instead of explaining he resorted to ask about 'trust'. Poor him, he just getting feeling lonelier.
